As the autumn leaves began to don their fiery hues and the crisp chill of November air whispered through the valleys, we found ourselves drawn to the raw beauty of Northern Spain's Picos de Europa. A three-day expedition to this less-trodden part of the Iberian Peninsula revealed a landscape abundant with natural grandeur, a tapestry of rugged peaks, serene lakes, and quaint villages that have stood the test of time.

Our adventure began with a hike through the famous Cares Gorge, a limestone canyon carved by the river Cares. As we trod along the trails, the sheer cliffs seemed to watch over us, guardians of an ancient past. The paths, while at times a vertiginous challenge, offered awe-inspiring views that rewarded our efforts tenfold.
