Day 2: Coastal Charms and Reflections on History

Gorée Island

On our second day, we took a short ferry ride to Gorée Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its poignant history as a former slave trading post. The colorful colonial buildings and tranquil atmosphere stand in stark contrast to the island’s painful past, serving as a place of reflection and remembrance.

N'Gor Beach

Later, we headed to N'Gor Beach to unwind and soak up the sun. The beach is dotted with traditional pirogues, colorful fishing boats that add a charming touch to the sandy shore. The vibrant blend of the natural landscape and local life offers a perfect picture of Dakar’s coastal beauty.
