On our second day, we took a short ferry ride to Gorée Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its poignant history as a former slave trading post. The colorful colonial buildings and tranquil atmosphere stand in stark contrast to the island’s painful past, serving as a place of reflection and remembrance.
